At Our Lady of Lake Huron, we are rooted in our Catholic identity. We joyfully recognize each person as a child of God and are partners in mission with families in faith formation. Here, we not only educate young scholars— we nurture the future of the Catholic Church
Our pre-K through third grade students participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, where they encounter and nurture a relationship with our loving God.
A typical class includes time for prayer, song and a presentation based on age-appropriate Scripture to children. Each child is then invited to internalize and respond to the presentation by working with materials, such as models of the items used at Mass.
“Catechesis of the Good Shepherd brings faith to life.”
- Beth Guza, catechist
The OLLH community gathers weekly to worship God through Holy Mass. Students are encouraged to serve in Mass ministries, including as altar servers, lectors, cantors and choir members.
Our school family gathers for prayer each morning, and prayer and Scripture are woven throughout the school day. Students graduate from OLLH with a mature understanding of our Catholic faith.
Answering Jesus's call for us to love our neighbor, students participate in service projects throughout the year. From making blankets to collecting food pantry donations, service is essential.
"We chose OLLH for the faith-based education and wholesome enviornment for our children." - OLLH Parent
"My favorite experience that OLLH offers is Prayer and Pledge in the morning. To see the whole school gather and pray and share so regularly is not an experience you get just anywhere." - OLLH Parent
